Security
Deposits
No security deposit
is required for residences
that are owner occupied and
a permanent structure. A $75
deposit is required for residential
mobile homes located on owned
property. A deposit equal to
two months of bills but not
exceeding $175 is required
for residential rental houses
and apartments. A $175 deposit
is required for residential
mobile homes located on leased
land. A deposit is also required
for camps, recreational or
seasonal accounts and farm
accounts. Contact Magnolia
Electric Power Association
Member Services Department
for details. Commercial deposits
are equal to two months of
bills. Deposits are returnable
upon termination of service.
How Long Will It Take?
Under normal circumstances most
accounts that require no line
construction are connected the
following workday. Accounts needing
line construction require seven
to ten working days after all
fees are paid, forms signed and
other requirements met. Weather
conditions may delay this longer.
Line Construction Costs
A construction deposit or aid to construction charge is required for lines over 200 feet long built to service mobile homes, farm accounts and recreational or seasonal accounts. Aid to construction charges for commercial accounts are based on an engineering study to determine feasibility.
